Welcome to the Art House, purpose built to combine art, culture and creativity. The Art House is a beautiful building equipped with modern services and amenities, including disabled access throughout. The Stamps By Me workshop is a fabulous learning environment where you can immerse yourself in the wonderful art of papercraft.
What to expect.....
A pool of water glistening in the light meets the tip of an artist's brush. A delicate shade of ink travels the line of a wild flower etched on a beautiful stamp. The finest papers and ribbons cut as if by a master tailor. A simple pair of hands, some glue, glitter, gems, assorted embellishments and a visionary mind all meet in a flourish of magical creativity. These are the things you can expect in our workshop. Let us share our world with you so that you might loose yourself in one created by you!
The Art House Building is just a moments walk from the new Wakefield Westgate Railway Station. When leaving the Railway Station walk straight ahead and cross the road at the pedestrain crossing. Turn an immediate right, cross the side road at the crossing and continue on Mulberry Way until you reach the main entrance to The Art House on your left.
From M1 Southbound
Leave the M1 at Junction 41 and follow the signs for Wakefield (Joining the A650). Continue across every roundabout until you reach the Newton Hill Roundabout, take the third exit signposted Wakefield (A61). Continue straight down this road until you reach the centre of Wakefield. With Wakefield College on your right (and County Hall on your left) follow the road staying in the left hand lane. This is Drury Lane. To find our reception and car park, continue on Drury Lane and at the traffic lights turn right onto Westgate, past the Black Horse Pub, then immediately right again onto Mulberry Way. We are on the right.
